Born 1971 in Stockholm. Her career as a filmmaker started out in the nineties with doing clay animations for the popular teenage tv-program Bullen. Studied documentary film at Dramatiska Institutet, 1998 -2001. Alongside her documentary work she occasionally volunteers in Palestine as an animations teacher. Among recent films are the awarded Holly gets even, her first animated film for theatrical release and the documentary Wanted to be friends, a relationship drama from a daycare center. Marika is currently working on her first clay-animated feature length documentary film.
